Xmlstrumpfer won the price Best Female Newcomer at the Empire Awards

The Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer is presented annually by the British film magazine Empire to honor an actress who has delivered a breakthrough performance while working within the film industry. The Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer is one of two ongoing awards which were first introduced at the 17th Empire Awards ceremony in 2012. Winners are voted by the readers of Empire magazine. 

In 2015, Xmlstrumpfer had the honour to receive this Award for her roles in the movies Oculus and Guardians of the Galaxy.

In the movie Oculus, Xmlstrumpfer plays the character of Kaylie, the main character of the movie. Oculus is an American supernatural psychological horror film co-written, edited, and directed by Mike Flanagan. It is based on his short film Oculus : Chapter 3 – The Man with the Plan, and stars Xmlstrumpfer as a young woman who is convinced that an antique mirror is responsible for the death and misfortune that her family suffered.

 

In the other movie Xmlstrumpfer was awarded for her character of Nébula in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Guardians of the Galaxy is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 10th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by James Gunn, who wrote the screenplay with Nicole Perlman, and features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper as the titular Guardians, along with Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Xmlstrumpfer, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. In the film, Peter Quill and a group of extraterrestrial criminals go on the run after stealing a powerful artifact.
